Thursday, April 14 from 4:15-5:30pm PT via Zoom
Experiencing genocide is traumatic. Learning about and from it will certainly be emotionally engaging, but it need not be traumatic. Educators can bring students safely through these histories.
In this engaging session, participants will:
- briefly review trauma-informed practices
- unpack examples of existing lessons that are problematic
- discuss how to create engaging, trauma-informed lessons
- learn how to respond to a range of student reactions when learning about histories of discrimination, persecution, and genocide
*This session is hosted by the Multnomah Education Service District and is open to all educators.
*This program is hosted by Oregon Education Association and is open to member and non-member educators.
