Friday, October 8 | 9am – Noon | Free; 3 PDUs available
As the Afghanistan refugee crisis unfolds, we have yet another opportunity to explore connections between historical examples and current events. In this session, participants will begin by learning about the history of Jewish refugees during the 1930s and 1940s as well as multimedia resources available for classroom use. Following historical background, educators will participate in a model conversation for how to implement a student driven discussion that reflects on the historical actions of attitudes towards Jewish refugees during the Second World War and the similarities and differences to the current situation.
We’ll send you a Zoom link for this session about 24 hours prior to the program. In the meantime, please feel free to email education@ojmche.org with any questions or comments.
