Do you want to become a more informed and engaged activist, but you’re not sure where to start? As we have seen in recent weeks, young people are changing the world with their activism, and OJMCHE is here to help you find issues you’re passionate about and give you the tools to make a difference. Come join OJMCHE the week of August 3rd to learn more about five Oregon based social justice organizations and explore different ways you can become involved.
Each day teen participants will meet for one hour via Zoom to talk with representatives of the participating organizations. During this time, teens will learn about the missions of each organization, how they serve the community, and different ways youth can become involved or provide support. At the end of each session, participants will be provided with an activity to help them practice putting activism into action.
Social justice topics include criminal justice reform, immigration, genocide, civil rights, and climate change.
