Jacob Wooten’s first official day on the floor at the Ron Tonkin Family Museum Shop saw hundreds of people flooding the museum as it was OJMCHE’s much-celebrated grand reopening back in June.
Since then, visitors have come to appreciate Jacob’s particular flair and style for finding unique and beautiful pieces for the shop, whether it’s one-of-a-kind local craft pieces, lovely Judaica work, or a special gift for friends or family. Jacob is a San Diego transplant who melded his passion for artistic expression, especially in food, fashion, and architecture, with a business degree from San Diego State University. Since coming to the museum, Jacob has strengthened ties with local craftspeople and highlights the artists through mini profiles sprinkled throughout the shop.
“The best part of being at the OJMCHE is becoming part of their welcoming family,” said Jacob. “The passion and love that everyone has here is infectious and admirable. I want people to know that the Museum Shop is free and open to the public and there is something here for everyone. We currently feature many local Jewish artisans, such as woodworkers, jewelry makers, and glasswork artists. We have everything you need for the upcoming high holidays. Beautiful pieces of Judaica are perfect for gifts or as a statement in your home.”
The Ron Tonkin Family Museum Shop is open during museum hours: Wednesday – Sunday, 11am-4pm.
