Digital Curriculum

Descriptions of, as well as direct access to, OJMCHE’s digital curricula is available here. All of our digital curricula provide an in-depth opportunity to explore the content of three of the museum’s core exhibitions or the Oregon Holocaust Memorial. Digital curricula also provide an exceptional opportunity to re-engage and reflect after a visit to OJMCHE or the Memorial.

Educators may request an accompanying educator’s guide for each digital curriculum that includes the following:

  1. ​Relevant Oregon Social Science Standards
  2. Guidance for how to use the digital curriculum in your classroom
  3. Supplemental resources and extension lessons

The Holocaust, An Oregon Perspective

The Holocaust, An Oregon Perspective digital curriculum utilizes photographs, oral history, and written testimony to share the experiences of local Holocaust survivors. Your classroom may choose from eight interactive digital experiences organized by theme that engage students in a range of narratives and perspectives about the Holocaust. Recommended for grades 7-12

Discrimination and Resistance: An Oregon Primer

Discrimination and Resistance, An Oregon Primer digital experience provides students the opportunity to learn about the dynamic relationship between discrimination and resistance in Oregon’s history through an interactive curriculum. Recommended for grades 7-12

Oregon Jewish Stories

Oregon Jewish Stories digital storybooks provide students the opportunity to learn about the rich, unique, and complex history of Oregon Jews, examine how it is integral to the larger history of Oregon, and consider how identities are shaped and evolve over time. Recommended for grades 4-12

 

Oregon Holocaust Memorial Virtual Tour

This self-paced and self-guided virtual tour makes it possible for anyone to visit the Oregon Holocaust Memorial from wherever they are located. As with an in-person tour of the Memorial, this virtual experience provides an opportunity for remembrance and reflection. Recommended for grades 7-12

The Oregon Holocaust Memorial Virtual Tour has an accompanying educator’s guide that includes the following:

  1. Anticipatory questions
  2. A graphic organizer for students
  3. A classroom discussion guide
  4. Extension resources and lessons
